Understanding your outpatient treatment options
Finding the right treatment is about more than choosing a treatment center. It means understanding which level of care best fits your clinical needs, daily responsibilities, and long-term recovery goals. At Lanier Recovery Center, every client begins with a comprehensive assessment so our team can recommend the outpatient program that provides the right level of support.
While we specialize in outpatient behavioral health services, we understand that some individuals need a higher level of care before beginning outpatient treatment. If medical detox, residential care, or inpatient treatment is recommended, we help coordinate referrals to an appropriate outside provider before clients transition into one of our outpatient programs.
| Level of Care |
What It Involves |
| Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) |
Structured treatment at our Atlanta location several days each week, with clients returning to their own residence or independent accommodations after programming. |
| Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) |
Multiple therapy sessions each week for clients who can reliably attend care at our Atlanta location while balancing appropriate work, school, or family responsibilities. |
| Standard Outpatient Care |
Ongoing counseling and continued recovery support with a reduced treatment schedule |
Because Lanier Recovery Center is located in the Atlanta area, Savannah residents should consider travel time, housing arrangements, transportation, and the frequency of required sessions before choosing one of our outpatient programs. Lanier does not provide housing, sober living, or residential accommodations. Our admissions team can help determine whether attending treatment in Atlanta is realistic or whether another level or location of care would be more appropriate.
Rather than following a fixed timeline, treatment progresses according to each person’s clinical needs and recovery goals. Some clients begin in PHP Atlanta before stepping down to IOP Atlanta and eventually standard outpatient care, while others enter treatment at a less intensive level from the start. The focus is always on providing the appropriate level of support while helping clients build confidence, stability, and long-term recovery.
